The room size is about 12 square meters.
How do the rooms look like?
The rooms are furnished and have a washbowl with
connections are available. 16 students live on each floor, and
share showers, toilets and a large kitchen. The price ( presently 148 Euros )
includes all attendant expenses such as electricity, water and
the TV-connection fee.
Residence equipment :
Sports room, a students bar, washing machines, table-tennis, an extra
room for storing bicycles.
Who is eligible for a room?
Any student matriculated in Aachen ( Fachhochschule or Technische Hochschule )
may apply for a room.
How do I apply for a room?
You need to fill out the application form /Anmeldeformular
and put it into the letter box of the Room Assignment Committee ( BA )
( placed in the entrance hall of the residence ), or send it to the following address:

It is advantageous to indicate a valid email address in the
application form / Anmeldeformular . This eases a quick contact.
It is NOT possible to apply for a room by email.
How is the assignment of rooms done?
As a matter of principle, the assignment of rooms follows
the time of arrival of the applications ( within each category ).
However, the final contract signature is exclusive responsibility of the
administration of the residence ( "Studentenwerk" ).
When assigning the rooms, a balanced proportion
between German and foreign students, as well as male and female students,
is envisaged. To that purpose four lists ( categories ) exist:

Only applications for open lists are accepted.
The waiting time for a room varies strongly, and depends on the queue
( category ) of the applicant. Once you are in one of the waiting lists, please do not forget
to confirm the validity of your application every four months at the following dates:
11th March - 1st April
11th July - 1st August
11th Nov. - 1st December
Otherwise, you will be removed from the list ( you may reapply for a room, however ).
An example text to confirm the validity of your application / Rückmeldung could be:
"Hi Room Assignment Committee,
Herewith I confirm that my application for a room
in the residence Jan von Werth is still valid."
( Don't forget your name and the date )
